Hi all!

I am planning to come to Ukraine sometime during January - March and rent an apartment there for at least 3 months, it does not need to be at Kiev.

It does not need to be a big apartment, one room with kitchen utilities, toilet and shower is what I am looking for. But it does need to
be warm, as I'll arrive during the winter.

What are the current prices for rental apartments in places like Odessa,
Lvov and Kharkov? Info on prices elsewhere in Ukraine is highly appreciated too.

In Dnipropetovsk ( it is a big and expensive city like Odessa ) you can find a comfortable ( and warm ) flat for $ 200 - 250 per month . I think it is an average price for all big centres. In Kiev the situation can be different.

According to this site, about Dnipropetovsk:

"The city is open to any and all who wish to visit and the space industry heritage of the place is proudly on display."

Sounds like an interesting place for aviation and space technology enthusiast
such as me.

Also:

"The city has a well-developed transportation system so getting around to see the sights is quite easy. Many of the streets near the city center are long, wide and lined with decorative buildings."

Sounds good, I like decorative buildings. They have an uplifting effect on
my spirit, and at my current location, Joensuu of Finland, there are hardly any to be seen.

Can't wait to get there. Many thanks for the information You provided,
Serhii!

Welcome to Dnipropetrovsk! - Dnipropetrovsk

I am sure you'll find it interesting ( space technology is on rise as well as transportation system and all industry in general ). Long and wonderful streets and avenues are packed with cars

I am not sure winter is the best time to come - it's cold sometimes. But you are Nordic and used to it I suppose. Please, feel free to ask any information or help if needed.

Hello, all -

I'm from New York City and planning a trip to the former Soviet Republic including Ukraine (Dneprop) this December. I have been reading about the city, culture, society and since this is my first trip, would appreciate some tips and guidelines from natives; things that travel books may not tell. Thank you
