Spravka - proof of residence

Hi

I will shortly be applying for residence in Ukraine but have been told that I will need spravka to confirm my current address in UK.

I have a letter confirming my address on electoral register but have been told that they cannot accept it in this format and that this should be a document from the government.

I have no idea how to get this. An idenity card would be ideal but these will not be issued in the UK until after 2009.

Any ideas?

I am from the Uk and have residencnce here,
you dont need to prove anything from the UK,
If you have a faimily here is very easy to get , they can not refuse it ,
if you dont they will play games with you and makeyou jump throught a thousand hoops !
so you will sooner or later give up !

Thanks

Thanks Chris. It's good to know its actually quite easy so you've put my mind at rest.

I've managed to get one or two things now anyway which I can use just in case.

Cheers mate

Guys, I also live in the UK and have another sort of problem. Maybe, you know the way around. My passport has expired and I have sent to the Ukrainian consulate in London to get a new one. However, they said that their passport-typing machine (or whatever it's called) is broken and they don't know when it'll be fixed. I can't travel, I can't do a few other things that I've planned. Has anyone been in such situation? I probably should have done it in the Ukraine but it's too late, anyway. I'm stuck in the UK and can't travel home.

If you are a permanent UK resident (legal) than you should be able to obtain a temporary travel document
from UK Immigration, indicating that you are a non-naturalized permanent UK resident and intend to return
to UK. It's good for one round trip.

Thank you, Hannia. I will give it a go. Yes, of course, I'm legal.

No, they won't give it for travel unless it's an emergency. Thanks, anyway.
