Hi Ruth Question Bozak does not know village where his grandfather was born...... He died at age 90 in Sifton Man. Born around 1840-45. Seems to me one is dead in the water if the village is not known.... Thanks vouri

Hi Ruth Back to square one...... We view the meterical book you referred to... no birth of Prokop Bozak... reason... I believe the village was wrong.... we have access to FHC here in Calgary... no problem in securing metrical..... must establish the village which is hard in that we cannot get the passenger list...... he left Ukraine in 1902 and arrived in Sifton Manitoba that year.... Thanks for all you have done..... read your blog.... really well done...... vouri@ucalgary.ca

My Grandfather was born in Felso Domonya, Hungary (now Onokivtsi, Ukraine.) A 1921 census revealed that there are probably relatives of mine still living there and I would like to write to contact them. Can you tell me of any way that I can get some kind of a city directory or phone book of Onokivtsi.

when Irene went to Kasperivtsi she asked about church records and according to the priest and my cousin all records but a few bits were seized by the bolsheviks @ 1950? and destroyed. So I doubt there is anything in the archives although I have not checked.
