Thank you Hannia. Apologies for posting here. I wasn't sure how it worked.

    Margaret,

Answer to your question is that I don't know until I take a closer look.

The name of the village is Zhyznomir (during Austro-Hungarian and Interwar Period called Zyznomierz). It was predominantly a Ruthenian/Ukrainian village w/its own GC Church. There is a very old Basilian Monastery there. I would imagine that the filial Kahal would have been in Buczacz ???

Have you confirmed that Immigrant/Ancestor was born in Zhyznomir or are you guessing? Have you looked for immigration records? When did family immigrate and where did they settle upon immigration. The answer to EXACT place of origin is in the country of immigration.

No offense, but I really do prefer that you post your inquiry in the Genealogy Forum. It's easier for me to follow thru when time allows. Additionally, there are some very knowledgeable researchers here that may also be able to help you.
