Also, I was speaking to my dad and he remembered that 3 of Peter's sons changed their name to Curley somewhere in the 30's when they moved to the states (Detroit and International Falls, MN). The 3 sons that stayed in Manitoba kept Koterla.

I have another article about the Koterla's that came from the 100 year anniversary of St. Clement's (near Winnipeg) that details some of the family after immigration. Was Alex buried in Saskatchewan? I saw a record for an Alex Kortello and wanted to verify with you if that was him. Are the Canadien Kortello's all related? Do you know why the name change? I have been working on my tree on Geni.com and would be happy to share the information. There are quite a few pictures of the Peter Koterla's on there as well.

I am glad my information helped and it is sure nice knowing I have more family.
Peter and Alex's parents names are Andrei Koterla and Jeryna Holwaczuk. I got their names from my grandparents marriage certificate. I think the Greek comes from Andrei Koterla. It is his family that came from Greece and settled in Bukowina. I, however, cannot prove it.
I have alot of information on the Peter Koterla family including a very interesting article written by Mary (Koterla) Gowriluk. If you would be interested I would gladly send the information to you.

Hi Cousin!

I am so glad you saw my post. I was hitting quiet a few brick walls with this line and was hoping for a break. Somewhere I did see that Peter had a brother, Alex but that was the extent of details. I know they immigrated from Kitsman, Ukraine to Gonor, Manitoba but beyond that, I know nothing.

Do you know when they left Greece for Ukraine?
Do you know who the parents of Peter and Alex?
Any other details?
