I think you should post your inquiry in the Genealogy Forum. You receive full and immediate attention. IreneLviv, Ukrainian native, knows Brody very well.
Don't be shy.
It's easier to work that way and may times our post are scanned by families in Ukraine. We have had lots of success
connecting our membership to family members in Ukraine.

15th March 2010 09:32MaksymytzHi Hannia,
MAKCéMEã (Maksymets) - Antochów (Antochow) - Kraszewski - Olejnik (Olynik) Families
I am looking for information for family with the last name of MAKCéMEã (with very many different spelling in Canada, including Maksymytz, Maksymetz, Maksymets, etc.) from Village of óÍÏÒÖ¦× / Smorziv, District of Brody, as well as from the village of Perevjatyci, Perviatychi or PERVYATYCHI , District of Sokal, in the Province of Halychyna/ Galicia, Austro-Hungarian Empire in Ukraine.
I am also searching for information on family with the last name of Antochów (with different spellings in Canada, including Antochow, Antochiw and Antichow) and family with the last names of Kraszewski and Olejnik (Olynik spelling, I think, in Canada) from Jabłonowo, powiat Kopyczyńce in Poland.
I am hoping you might be able to help me find information on these families? Please let me know if you have any information that might help me.
Regards

7th September 2009 17:50zarate7Hello,
I have followed some of your threads. Are you able to help me trace the name of Zyznomyrsky? I see it is a village near Bucac in Galicia. Presumably my family comes from there. Is it a Jewish name?

24th June 2009 19:27FrankPhilHannia,
thank you so much for your infos. Unfortunately, wayback machine could not help me in finding it out, as no archived pages I've requested are available.
I've also follwed your suggestion to post my enquiry on board. I'm 100% sure my relatives are in Nikolayev town, as I've got their home address, but not sure they have a private phone in house.
Am I right to ring them in proper advance before knocking on their house's door? Is this according Ukrainian culture?
Thank you in advance for your advice -
24th June 2009 13:43HanniaHello Frank,
Lucky for us, all dead links are in Internet Library. As long as you have properties of link, you can always access it.
I use wayback machine to do this.
Properties for the telephone directory you want - http://phones.khersoncity.com/mk/
Submit to www.archive.org/
Click to last date and you should be able to run the name thru directory.
PS> Are you sure your family is from this fair size city and regional center, and not from one of the villages in the region?
BTW you should post your inquiry on board. There are many natives that lurch our forum. -
24th June 2009 10:08FrankPhilHi Hannia,
I'm new to your great forum, because I've understood your knwoledge is so wide and deep and you can really help people to find out their genealogies in Ukraine.
I'm looking for phone number of my relatives who are living in Nikolayev town. I've found through your previous posts a link to white pages of this city but it apparently doesn't work any more (it sounds like "out of order", or abandoned)
Could you please help me on this?
Thank you in advance
