    Pratsovetz (another transliteration/sound like) means WORKER.

    Shvetz (another transliteration) means SHOEMAKER/COBBLER

    While reading the metrical books from the end of the 18th and early 19th Century when Ukraine was occupied by the Poles, I noticed a few occupations that I can not find anywhere. They are PRACOWITZ and SZWIEC ( Could this be SZEWC: a shoemaker?). The spelling may not be correct as the writing is hard to read. Does anyone know what these mean? Had a great time in Lviv!
