Ukrainians Love Politics More Than Poetics

Who has read Aristotle's Poetics?

I have been a member of this forum for over a year. And I can say that Ukrainians love politics more than poetics.

The heated discussions on politics are more exciting and thrilling than the posts on poems and novels. But poetics is better and safer than politics.

Poets are better than politicians.
We don't give you oranges that will soon turn into sour grapes in your mouths as you all can testify of what has become of our beloved Orange Revolution.

Politicians are opportunists.
But poets are caretakers of your broken hearts and wounded souls.

I don't know why you are comparing the two, but not everybody thinks that way. Are you proposing that everybody should read poems and have anarchy? Politicians are opportunists because we allow them to be, our system of government isn't that great.

Plato will tell you that the poets should be censored. What they say isn't real. It is a distortion of the truth.

Politics is far important than poetry.

Why politics over poetry. Poetry is wonderful to read, listen to and gain understang from. Politics is in your face everyday, and I don't care where your from on this planet. Probably why people tend to pay more attention to politics than poetry.

Maybe the "Orange Revolution" hasn't been all that was expected, but how involved are the very people that are being affected? Government is not perfect, far from it, and it is up to the "people" that are supposed to watch over their "elected officials", not the other way around. One has it on themselves to blame for the problems that go on in government. Throw the bums out! Get rid of them! And if the new ones don't do any better, throw them out too! Only when you get everybody to exercise their vote, nothing is going to change. Do something about it, "man". How many on this forum "VOTE"? How many here have given of their time to volunteer for something? If you have, you are in a small minority. You know what Orikinla, most people just don't give a s--t anymore! Later.
