Hi, everyone.

I recommend "Tuesdays With Morrie" to anyone. It was a wonderful, inspiring, and enlighting book about love, death, life, friendship, and a teachers advice. It is a true story with a great meaning. I loved it and probably will read it many more times. If you haven't read it,please do.

Any suggestions for me?

Hello Anucia

Who is the author for "Tuesday's with Morrie"? I have not heard of it.

I recommend Jane Urquhart's The Underpainter. Very eloquently written with a very moving climax. The subject is the life of a New York painter, and the relationships that he forged throughout his life. Through his paintings his life is revealed and how ultimately how he pushed away happiness with his own fear. I won't reveal more than that. Has anyone read this book? Perhaps you could recommend something for me too?

Love Dana Markov

GOOD BOOKS ON UKRAINE

Last year I picked up Anna Reid's "Borderland", and found it to be an incredible book. THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ANY DIASPORA- that is unless you have been to Ukraine, and have read Orest Subtelny's epic enough to memorize it.

However I am searching for a new tome, and well, although it is not Ukrainian, it is about Russia, titled "Vodka, Tears, and Lenin's Angel". Sounds rather disgusting, doesn't it?

I was however, poking my nose through Amazon.com and found this...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...189960-6024556

Has anyone read this one? There is also a book on Kyiv; http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...189960-6024556

Any feedback?

Smile Suggestion

Hi Forest,

Before you start reading my story (a fantastic book, but quite long and very demanding, not a beach book), may I recommend a book called "The dying animal", written by Philip Roth.

He is probably one of the (if not the) greatest living american writer and this books deals with issues as classics as love/getting old, regrets and remorses of a lifetime, but in a special deeply human way few authors are able to reach.

If you like this book than read "Patrimony", the story of his difficult relationship with his father.
This book could bring together angry fathers and sons like no others.
