I too liked borderland. Similar, and just as good IMHO is Neal Ascherson's "Black Sea". Plus Isaac Babel's Odessa stories. Anyway, I'm curious, has anyone read "Dynamo:
Defending the Honour of Kiev" by Andy Dougan? And if so, any good?
