Anyone know the name of this film?

I saw this Ukrainian movie once. It was newer, definitely made in the 90's. It was about a man who like worshiped his girlfriend/wife [I forget] and she dumps him because he doesn't have enough money, so he gets involved in all this crime stuff and also involved with a prostitute. If I remember correctly they end up liking eachother. I can't remember exactly. Does anybody happen to know the name of this movie?

I rented it at a video store here but since then that video store closed down.

Hello Lizka,

The movie you are referring to is "A Friend of the Deceased,"(1991) directed by Vyacheslav Krishtofovich. I know because it is the only Ukrainian movie I have ever seen.
