She is a pretty woman, but that dress made her look like a red cabbage.

During the Oscars she was very visible. She sat next to George Clooney in the front row and made several appearances on the stage as well. I think she averages 2/3 films a year, so she is a working actor. The Oscar nomination brings her up several financial notches and provides her with ready availability of better screenplays.

One would think she would try to influence the plot and have the orphan be Ukrainian, no?

Stepan,

Vera has a reputation for being hardworking, always prepared and not a troublemaker. She is not a diva and that keeps the scripts coming.

Yea, I don't know. Maybe she didn't want people to have a negative image of Ukraine. Still have to watch that movie.

Anyway, Vera is funny. Hard to understand sometimes, but funny when you can. Goats, so Ukrainian.

She does have a good sense of humor. In time she will get more comfortable being in the limelight.

She certainly is not shy about being Ukrainian and her Ukrainian ways.

I just wish she would change her stylist.

There was an interview with her on TV ( the voice of America – Ukrainian section ) - and I missed it ! I turned on tv set when she actually finished talking , so I didn’t hear a single word of her.

Is she really bright , speaks Ukrainian , involved in any Ukrainian actions…. ? I am sure she is talented and wish her only glorious victories in future. I haven’t heard anything about her over Ukrainian tv and radio here in Ukraine. What a shame !

And I think a new stylist won’t be a big problem ( to avoid looking like a cabbage ). We have a real talent to be proud of !
