Hello.
I was wondering if anyone could advise me. I already have good basic understanding of Russian but I would like to continue it further in Russia or preferably Ukraine. Does anyone know if there would be anyway for me to teach English as a foreign language in exchange for Russian?

I would be very gratefull for any information!

You mean you'd like to come to Russia or Ukraine to learn Russian but would offer English in return?

If I got you right, then maybe you can try some language schools. There are several language school in Kiev that offer both Russian and English teaching. I would recommend you try to figure out what they would be prepared to pay you if you just came to teach and then negotiate. Otherwise they'll screw you over on pay.

You can also look into universities. Kiev Shevchenko University, the Politechnic, and some others all have Russian courses for foreigners. I don't know the prices but should be cheaper then language schools.

As to language exchange, from what I heard from others who tried it, it only helps if you are already studying language in a structured way somewhere and need additional practice.

and why is it, if you don't mind me asking that you want to go to Ukraine to study Russian? you might as well go to New York, I hear there are lots of native speakers of Russian that live there.

I reread her message twice, she mentions Russian three times and there is not a single mention of Ukrainian so I'm totally at a loss as to how her post can sound like she wants to learn Ukrainian. She wants to improve her Russian all right but the weird part is that for some reason she prefers to do that in Ukraine and that's the bit I don't really understand. Go figure.
