Not sure which forum this question is most appropriate, so I'll post here in the language forum.

My lady friend brought me a floral arrangement featuring a single red rose on my birthday, took me out to dinner, and, um, stargazing afterward...

I'm just curious to know what significance there is in Ukrainian culture for giving a red rose.
