I work in the receiving dept of a pharmaceutical company.
I am starting to see, quite frequently, drivers that say they are from the 'ukrain'. The only thing they can say is "yes", "no", "thank you" & "my english is no good". My problem is that I speak no "Ukrain" and have reverted to trying to use hand signals/motions and acting like a 'mime' for them to understand me. This is very awkard, and very uncomfortable for both of us. Can someone please send me info on how to write the words as follows: 'BACK THE TRUCK TO THE DOCK. THANK YOU' stressed in the U.S. THANKS JO ANNE ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA U.S.A |

ok. just for future knowledge (since i see that your trying to see the right way to spell it)
1. Country: Ukraine 2. People: Ukrainians 3. Its "Ukraine" and not "the Ukraine" Now onto the definition English = BACK THE TRUCK TO THE DOCK. THANK YOU How To Say It = ZAVYZY VANTAZHNYK ZADOM DO DOKA Written In Ukrainian, Just In Case You Want To Show Them. P.S. You May Have To Change Your Endodings To View This = Завизи вантажник задом до дока I Think That Should Be Right Are their a lot of Ukrainians living in North Carolina? |

Thanks for all your helpful info.
I have no clue as to how many, if any. These drivers are coming from Illinois, making deliveries via Conroy Trucking Company. They don't speak much, but they let me know their english "Is not good". Both the driver & myself get flustered when we can not understand each other. I even tried writing it down for them, but they couldn't read it either. I wonder how on earth they read our road signs in order to make the deliveries to us. I wanted to try and find a way to communicate with them, that's why I posted here.I get nervous, that they will get upset with me when we can't understand each other. I know nothing about "Ukraine", or Ukrainians. I'm going to print this out, so next time, I'll give it to the driver & see what happens. I'll let you know! And TRULY thanks for trying to help me out! Thanks again Jo Anne Quote:
