rusrosy what u talkin about? lemkos live in poland-slovakia regions and they understand russian better? thats some propaganda u giving there.....my lemko family consider polish but closest languages is logicaly polish and western ukraine language and slovakian border dialects......they are first lemkos after that whatever they like...they have never had antything to do with russia and they are all uniate not orthodox...orthodox hate them even more than catholics cause they see them as traitors diverting to rome....lemkos was simply polish tribes who got in contact with orthodox monks before catholics reach them in moantains...this region was never in kievan rus....so they get orthodox and crylic as pakage price from orthodox preachers..and thoose lemkos who deported by rusky comies to ukraine i welcome to polish homelands, but would ukraine welceome poles?...i think there 200.000 lemkos in ukraine today off them proly 150.000 are descents from poland and other 50.000 are lemkos who origin in polish-ukraine borders..they could settle in their own villages who many still empty today....off polands 120.000 lemkos i heard half returned to villages in south poland..

Many still live in the north where they occupied german villages that were vacated by the communist government. Many poles who have lemko ancestry have come to polish-Lemko cultural centers to learn more about their heritage.
