NicholasWestmarland it would be easier, and quicker, to learn the Russian Alphabet, because there is no way to accurately transliterate Russian words into English. The problem isn't their alphabet, which is simple and phonetic - it's ours.
For instance their have been 36 different spellings in English of Tchaikovsky! (Even the most common one has the totally pointless "T" at the front).
Another example, the Russian "и" is an exact equivalent of our "Y" but the Russian vowel "ш" (sounds like a cross between "u" and "i") is also often written as "Y".
