I am wanting to get my lastname ROSYCHUK tattoo'd onto my back just below my neck for my 19th birthday cause im proud of being Ukrainian, and i would LOVE to have it in Ukrainian. so can anyone please help me out? I would need it in piciture format (gif, bmp, jpeg, etc) and would be in your debt.

Definitely Windows Cyrillic.

Kathy - If it's going to be directly transliterated, than definitely "C" rather than "3". I did a quick google search, and found thousands of people with the "S" spelling, and only one with a "Z". Perhaps you know of some historical-linguistic reason that a 'z' might get changed to an 's' in immigration?

Maybe we should check with Hannia in the Geneology section for the etymology of the name before CyberBullets gets it tattoo'd on his back - he only gets one shot at this, after all :-)

Timofei: yeah good point (about my only one chance).

i dont know much about my last name, what it means, where in Ukraine my family came from 7 generations ago... but as of late i have been extremely intrested in why my family came to Canada. im assuiming as farmers since my family owned serveral farms in the praries.

ill ask my extended family if it was changed at immigration.
