Hello

Is this name an Kalina name? Let me explain little I was adopted when I was 10 month old, my birth name would of been Kalina. At 7 mons old my biological parents had already given up their parental rights. What I heard is a nurse named me Jennifer.

I'm curious is Kalina common in Ukraine? I'm decent Ukrainian
Thanks
Jennifer

Yes, kalina is very popular in Ukraine , even more - it is a symbol of Ukraine. I have two bushes of it in my garden. We have many surnames which come from it. But I have never head about such first name.

Very often people in immigration give their children very nice name that are absolutely impossible in Ukraine ( for example Kvitka, Zirka, etc )

There is a very popular name Galina ( Halina - çÁÌÉÎÁ) and rare one Kylyna - ëÉÌÉÎÁ.

I think it was a popular Ukrainian first name. I had an aunt named Kalyna who came from Kasperivtsi. Now her granddaughter has named her daughter Kalyna also.

Yes , Silkrem , I agree with you , but we know who receive such names here in our part of Ukraine .

Have you noticed that Ruth has many Kalynas in her family. Wonderful name indeed , and I think it sounds fine in English as well.
