Ukrainian language - easy gains?

Hi all,
I'm learnign Ukrainian and have various resources of varied quality but none of them mention any 'easy gains'. For example, I noticed that if I take the stem of a verb and add '-ец' or -'нка' then I have the doer of x.
If I take any English word ending -tion and change to -cion, I would have the Spanish.

Little tricks like this can gain the learning hundreds or even thousands of words easily - are there any tricks that can help me gain words?

many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony ,

You can expand your tricks on Ukrainian as well. The words with suffixes – tion, - cion are mainly of Latin origin. We use them in Ukrainian too. As a rule they have ending - ця , and are of a female gender. Generation / - cion is генерац╕я, revolution – революц╕я, situation - ситуац╕я , etc. – there are really hundreds or even thousands of them as you have mentioned

So the situation with so called international terminology isn’t very difficult at all. The main problem is original Ukrainian words - here you will need another tricks and approaches.

My native is Ukrainian and I find all those tricks when learning English.

I am very happy to answer your question and ready to help in you study – keep learning !

Good luck from Ukraine !

Fantastic! Thanks for the advice

My wife generally helps me with the study, but she hasn't been able to give me any 'tricks' just yet. I'll keep on with my study, I need to learn quickly!

many thanks
Tony
