Here I am with another word request.
The word is ----- Водохреща Google says 'Epipheny' --- the word sounds like 'water christening' --baptism? It's the title of a painting. Thanks for your help. Ernie |

I looked at definitions of those terms and found
Baptism - - christening, introduction, start, inauguration…. , etc. Epiphany – A Christian festival on January sixth , celebrating the visit of the wise men to the Baby Jesus. So , act of baptism can take place any time it is needed. Epiphany – only at a certain time according to the church calendar. You are talking about christening of water , and it takes place mainly during Epiphany. So , I think in your case Водохреща means Epiphany . Of course its origin needs more explanations for foreigners. |
