Translation help plzzzz

Okay, so I'm about to get a new tattoo, and its really sweet too (i'm designing it myself) but I want some wording done in Ukrainian but I can't write in Ukrainian.

I've tried looking for translators online and can't find a really good one that can translate whole phrases.

So can someone help me plz ?

The only thing I want translated is....

Proud to be Ukrainian

as well as....

Kardash

Пишаюся тим, що я укра╖нець (укра╖нка)

Machine translation "Гордий бути." does not sound Ukrainian at all!

Irene,

I see no problem with Гордий, in fact it's a more common word.

Of course if you are a girl, which i assume you are ukiebabe ;-), it would be "Горда бути Укра╖нкою"

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Я гордий бути - is a calque from English 'proud to be"
Instead, they say in Ukrainian "гордий з чого" or
"пишаюся чим" (proud from/with)

Irene,

It derives from "to be", but it is still gramatically correct. Right?

Either way, when getting a tatto, i'm assuming that she will want whatever is shorter.

ukiebabe, what's the status of this, do you have any pics?
