Either way, this forums usage is dropping every day
Nothing that really atracts people except for the site name.

To Stepantas,
Your right, a lot of sites are dropping in numbers and most cases it's because the site has become stagnate or the motivators have moved on to other things in life.
This site is different in that it covers a National culture and offers many of us outside of the Ukraine to ask questions from those that live there and those who have traveled there. The opportunity to ask about relations ,to read history and general information,to just communicate with other Ukrainians is what this site offers.
Those of you who ,over the years, have contributed are to be congratulated for keeping not only this site open but for making it possible for people like me half way around the world ,the ability to say so.
I note that at night ,when it's afternoon/morning in Europe, that there are usually between 3 to 9 visitors reading different posts.Great! if you read this then join up and tell us all what this site needs.
As I said , this site does offer the opportunity for all of us to talk with each other and wouldn't be great if we could do so in Ukrainian, transliterated script or English.

To Aussieuke:

You say "the Ukraine", its "Ukraine"

Moving on, I feel that if more participation was promoted, (which i feel that the forum leaders are responsible for), then we would have much more to say.
I used to make a topic with news every day, and those topics were receiving 20-50 views, but i stopped, because what is the point of writing and talking if no feedback is given (hint)
Every person should reply to a topic because every person had opionions every second of their life.

To Stepanstas,
You are right in correcting me re the way I use the name Ukraine, it is a crossover of my english .I will try not to make that mistake too often.
Your right about people reading and not commenting, that will always be a problem unless you make the topics or subjects about material from "far left field" and that could open the discussions to unwanted topics.
I feel that this site has the potential to be the prime site for Ukrainians from across the world to establish first contact with family or friends and to promote the tourist potential of the country. In a neutral and unbiased way so as to allow honest comments by visitors who have travelled to Ukraine and they should be allowed to make those comments in whichever native tongue they desire to use.

Hello Stepanstas and Aussieuke,

actually I came across this topic because of it's odd title. To my knowledge, there is no such thing as "transliterisation". Linguists use the term "transliteration".

Too bad the main page is russian
I know exactly what you mean The site based in Kyiv, so it's quiet logical the default language.

One could type a reply on the translator but the time taken to cut and paste onto a 'Chat' page would be prohibitive. Also ,you could have it in split window but not all have wide screen computors.
I'd be happy with direct selectable translit and use phonetic spelling as others do and use the translator for more formal/thought out replies on pages such as this.
Your requests seem to me reasonable. Check this Ukrainian transliterator, maybe it will fit you better.
