Nameless,

How long have you been afflicted with the malady that prevents you from entering the light of truth to which all sane beings are addicted?

Nonson,

I give you 24 hours and I know you will make me laugh (if you don't ignore me)

What will be the events if Beijing hosts the 2008 olympics?
tic tic tic (the clock starts ticking now).

My guesses:

The " three Chinese military men club a 19 year old, 106 pound women protester with bats and then mace her face point blank event" will only be an exhibition sport this olympics so no medals will be handed out.

The "cross the Yalu river and butcher American soldiers in Korea, just five years after the Americans saved your ass from Japan" event will have medals, ribbons and the Mainland Chinese should sweep.

Ukraine and Belarus are favored in the "make the journalists disappear who favor the opposition parties".

Finally, North Korea is favored by a landslide in the "remain communist til every citizen starves to deathalon."

surprise

I'm very surprise when I read Ukrainian youth's words. Coz China is quite different from what you know. But USA and some other countries' subreption
can always misguide simple people. Chinese youth don't believe them though they did.
If you lived in China, you would not feel like that.

Liberal Toronto vs Concervative China

It seems to me you have a classic example of liberal versus conserative in the fight for an olympic venue.
I wonder if the liberal will win but actually know it wont because it lacks the political clout to accoplish the mission. Lacking in world power and econmic warfare tactics it stands clear as to who will defeat Canada here.
The real war if one chooses to partake in would be an economic one in that it is effectual towards China. Pierogies talks of boycott but seems to forget it's too late now because the clout is not there.
Politics are extreme when choosing an olympic site and Canada has not got the guns to fight it out in the political arena with China when you consider the airline factors and economic boom which is golden for the east in this prospect. All of Asia is in the China corner because it's all about money to that area of the world.
Of course you already knew that but consider boycott of China products and then you become a player.
