i live in holland for 7 months already...& as more i live here...as more i feel sorry for our country!i'll try to explaine why!..remember how government was happy when we accepted democracy ?!but i am not sure if they had any idea what it means !,they always proclaime that freedom is number one rule...because it is like this in all normal civilized countries!but is it so with us ?...let's take for example travelling!....is it normal..that somebody has to tell us how to spend & where our lives?we were born free...& nobody has any rights to tell us what to do with our own lives....!world is round...so why we have to spend our live on a little dot on the map?.for god sake...why do i have to ask somebody to allow me going to other country? i think this is a b.l s..t that you can't find in any other normal country! who gives them rights to tell me where i have to live....! if a girl under 25, not married or with kids,,,,she can't leave ukraine....is it normal?why i just can't take my passport & make my own choise what to do with my life? no...i have to ask permission from somebody...& if they have bed hair day...you will have to spend more years in ukraine...without possibility to enjoy your life!
name me any other country...from which if you wanna visit other country...at embassy you have to present even number of the room in which hotel you planning to stay?!& if you say that your friend lives in that country..they will wave you goodbye...because they will think that it's possibility for you to stay there ! so what ?...can't i stay where i want?...or if i am born in ukraine i have to give my life to ukraine too?i don't think so!what we waiting with our personal freedom?...we waiting until government will tell us when & what to eat?...anybody knows when we are going to be normal civilized country? where human rights is number one rule ?! i am in holland not because they liked me, but because i had to lie a lot...but why we have to lie ?..everybody lies when he/she comes to embassy ! peole..think about your rights as a free natures!if we don't stop it..then who will? Alina from amsterdam! |

Alina,
My parents and I also had to lie a lot in order to leave the USSR a long time ago.
I agree with you that our world is an imperfect place, when it comes to people's rights and freedoms. And some countries definitely have less freedom than others. People in Ukraine have less freedom than people in Western countries. But I have lived in Ukraine during the Soviet times, and I think that people there had even less freedom then. Lets hope that our world will be better place in the future. But for now, there is nothing wrong with lying to people who would take away your rights and freedoms. I suppose, the only drawback of lying in self-defence is that you may get punished if you get caught. |
