Hello,
I am travelling throughout Ukraine for work for about 2 weeks. I was in Kiev a few days ago, in Donetsk now, and will be back in Kiev in 3 more days. The country is amazing, and that is compounded by the research that I am trying to do on where my family comes from.

Do yo think there is a way to track how old the town of RebkI is? I wonder if it is as old as 1918 or so.

The intresting think is that my grandfather who I never met ahd to spend time in the hospital in Cherigov as a very very young child. How great would it be (but highly unlikely) to find those records.

Yes, unfortunately, highly unlikely - those records must have been destroyed.

I can't say exactly but it is highly possibly that Repki is much older. I would ask you to say exactly: "Repki" or "Rebki"?

I am finding this amazing. Prior to this trip, I had never really thought much about where my family came from (like most Americans). Now that I am in Ukraine, it is really incredible. My dad in New York is going to try to get more info from my family about the town name (Rebki, Repki, Repka...) I did not know this, but apparently they returned (as senior citizens) in the 1980's and found the town.

I will post as soon as I hear back.
Thank you very much for helping me sold this mystery.

It really means a lot to discover where you came from.

Dan
