History of Salo in Ukraine

I am interested in historical information for my research - Are Ukrainians the only people in Europe that eat salo. Let's say, what is known about preferences of Slovaks, Rusyns, Poles, and other peoples from Central and Eastern Europe. When did this tradition start? Since when is it known that salo became a favorite of Ukrainian cuisine art?

Please let me explain you: despite what they think, there is NO SUCH A NATION AS RUSYNS. They are either Slovaks (Poles) or Ukrainians. They don't have own culture and territory.
