I made this thread so I can ask my questions about the Ukrainian history. I'll post my questions as they come up.
I'm currently reading a book titled "Ukraine - Enchantment of the World" and in it there is a statement that says "the first signs of people found in the territory of modern Ukraine date back 150,000 years." This book was published in the year of 2001, and 2006 is around the corner. So, my question about this statement is: Is this date (150,000) still accurate or has there been found new evidence that suggests an older date? Thanks. ![]()

The date 150, 000 is mentioned in all modern books on history ( I took the one for 7th grade just to check). At that time there were another plants, animals, climate , etc. It is not a complicated or unclear questions - archeologists work and discover the stone age deeper and deeper.
The most interesting , unclear and miraculous question of old history is so called Trypil’s’ka (Trypillia) culture. That is a real challenge for everyone. People of that culture lost a lot of evidences which prove they were the first well developed civilization ( long before old Egypt and Mesopotamia ). There are many articles in newspapers and magazines and almost every week something new is published - and all is breath taking indeed. Does your book tell anything about this puzzle of Ukrainian history ? |
