Question

Is anybody on Ukraine.com interested in the Ukrainska Povstanska Armiya / The Ukrainian insurgent Army?

How they fought facism and red facism?

If Ukraine.com is to be about enlightening people on all areas of Ukraine's past and present, I'm offering my time to point people in the right direction.

I would also like to add, I'm no expert on this subject and would appriciate it if anyone with knowledge on this subject takes the time to contacts me.

Take Care

Vlas.

My dad was a member of UPA, and only when I went to Ukraine I found out what He did, no wonder He would not speak about it when he was alive, sadly he passed away before seeing his beloved Ukraiana gain independance!!!!

The way the UPA 'OUN' fought the independence in some cases could be named 'genocide': of Jews, Poles and Russians. Blinded by the idea of independence UPA's members commited crimes that should be persecuted by the international low. 500.000 of exterminated by UPA Poles on Wolyn covered with shame Ucrainian nation.

I read Ukrainian History at uni, so I have some knowledge of the UPA, but I would love to learn more.

I think you are getting confused with the Ukrainian Division Halicia.
They were however, absolutely exonerated of any war crimes by all the allies.

"Were you there???"
-
If I had been there, we wouldn't have conducted this polite conversation.

"the Poles were never wellcomed in Ukraine "
-
Putting aside the question of the legacy of the Polish presence in the Eastern Malopolska [in your opinion it probably justifies holocaust made on Poles in these region], extermination of 5000.000 Poles by UPA was an criminal act, what blames all Ucrainians attributing UPA any heroic acts. Killing civilians is a murder, no metter what intentions guided the criminals. Nothing less, nothing more.

"Ukraine,read up your histiory. "
-
by 1945 the part of Ucraine was legal part of Poland.

"Secondly did not the POLES invade Ukraine"
-
sure. And Ucrainians invaded pre-indoeuropean tribes. Extermination of 500000 Poles on Wolyn completly justified.
