B.Ungaro,
I heard Arabs saying "Ukrania" instead of "Ukraine", but Americans saying this..???
Well, never heard.
This is the first time I hear someone having difficulties with some countrie's name spelling...

StasUA,
Although you go to bed and wake up with the good feelings for Ukraine, I suggest you still should NOT think of it as of "PUP ZEMLI"... It is definitely neither the center of Eastern nor Western Europe...

I have no problems with spelling or saying it. UKRAINA How lovely!!!
Anyway, as Poland is considered to be the border of Central Europe, then Ukraine is probably an Easter European Country. But does it really matter?

Here in the Western Europe the Central Europe is considered Austria. Poland, Ukraine, Slovaquia, etc., is considered Eastern. Stasiu, I understand you. Sometimes I think that we are more western European, but sometimes, when I speak with the people and they show this Soviet way of thinking, I think that a long time we will be Far Eastern Europe...

It is so simple guys! Geographicly - Yes! It is center, in fact some little village under Chercassy is the right point of geographical center. But politically it is considered Eastern Europe.(doesn't mean it's East)

Finally somebody said it Yulia! Yes it is geographical center of Europe, but why should it be eastern in political, if it is central! And I am not saying we are western, we are central.
