What do you think about Viktor Suvorov's (Rezun) version of the beginning of the WWII?
To my opinion, he's in general right . Stalin wanted to conquer Europe and to use the results of Hitler's deeds in Europe for communistic aims. |

But what Suvorov had already said, was not accepted by (for example) the Ukrainian historic science. I went to school in the Ukraine and listened to sweet stories about Stalin's unpreparedness that was shown in the war in Finland.

I'd say more about the problem of Suvorov's recognizing in Europe: In Germany, he is hardly known by history teachers(my private experience) and there is so much anti-Suvorov "propaganda" on TV. Although his books "The ICe-Breaker" and "The M-day" were published in Stuttgart and re-edited 11 times, Suvorov still remains "a good dilletante" for most of the scientists.

Dear Alkash.
I learned in my school in Ukraine that Stalin was perfectly prepared for offensive war against Germany, and that he even set the date of German invasion, which was couple month too late, because Hitler was faster to invade USSR. So, Suvorov really didn't tell us (me) anything new. WBR, Zhenya. |

I wouldn't trust those textbooks, Zhenya. All the other evidence indicates that Stalin was flabbergasted that Hitler would break his agreement with him. He had just gotten through executing nearly his entire high command, as well.
