OK, I'll dare to do it again. And (if almighty won't erase it again) it will be much better than the last time, because I read some books about this subject. So, anybody who is interested in Ukrainian history and folclore you can help.

Dear Yulia,
I'm English, but visiting Ukraine 3 times a year to meet young people makes me want to know more about Ukrainian folklore, etc., so are you asking, or offering? I am intreagued by your title (me being more chritian orientated) but an open mind gives a wide range. I visited Chernovtsi over Orthodox christmas and loved the ceremonies, parties, etc., but to have a few Ukrainian anacdotes would go down well with my friends and an understanding of folklore......have you any books you could recommend. Maybe others would add little stories each....Lilly - you have a fantastic knowledge of English and a lovely way with poetry - what can you offer?
Respect to you all.
ANDREW.

Well, you can find out very interesting things in this forum, because Ukrainian christian folklor has a lot of paganistic traditions and rituals - eating kutia, for example.
Resently I found out that I was born at the day of Dazhbog - God of Sun. So, maybe I should celebrate my birthday doing all the rituals people did back then.

I make a motion that from this day on, Yulia
be called SUNSHINE by all members of this board. Do I hear a second?

Thanks Yulia - I have heard of 'kutia', but not eaten it...as far as I know! > what is it? I've tried (!) to eat a white smooth product that I could not swallow, as it simply coated my entire mouth - horrible.
B.UNGARO - 'Sunshine' - Love it:I second your motion, but I'm new to this game - you'll probably need a third!.
Yulia, how do christian and pagan rites overlap in your culture?? You obviously have a knowledge of both to understand and clarify where each should stop / start, BUT DON'T, therefore overlaping into each others territory, making the folklore.
ANDREW.

And Yulia, I obviously missed your first attempt to raise this subject- what makes you think 'the Almighty' messed it up?!!! and what did he take objection to - you must say.

Greetings,
The Almighty was John Strutters. He pushed the wrong fricken key early one morning as he was recovering from the effects of POTATO JUICE. It was at 5:45 AM as I recall. As such, 5:45 became a topic. It is no longer on the board. I am sure that you all remember.
