Marina, don't be mean to Stas. He is gaining life experience, which may be our only claim to wisdom, by associating with us. But, Stas, I think Marina is also saying that it would be better if you could come to terms with the fact that you ARE in the US. The Internet can be a useful place to spend a lot of time, but if you aren't growing toward happiness here, in the US, among Americans, then you may be distracting yourself from something important.
Everyone in these forums respects and even admires you. We even think we know you pretty well (scary!). Wistful thoughts about Ukraine can be very enjoyable, but there is a fine life among fine Americans waiting for you if you give them a chance. I am presuming to speak for many, but I think I am on safe ground on this one. In conlusion, we hope you become as happy as you can be in your life. |

![]() I am not saying it is bad coutnry with bad people, no, but it is different, it is to different from Ukraine, which is a reason I do not like it here. I have lost too much when I left Ukraine, and gained nothing here. [This message has been edited by StasUA (edited 16 January 2000).] |

Stas, let's do this: Write down a list of what you lost, or think you lost, by leaving Ukraine; then, make a list of the things that you could REALISTICALLY get back, ever, whether here or there. Pick the ones that allow you to recover something HERE, and give them a shot. In other words, make an effort to SOLVE the problem. You will then be choosing to be happy or unhappy. But it is a CHOICE. You may choose. It is not the move to America that makes you unhappy. You are choosing to be unhappy, and that makes no sense. Don't tell me about your loss, or I'll tell you about MY losses before I was your age. Choose happiness. We'll try to be part of your happiness in the forums. In the other places, you have to find it, and choose it. It is the one thing you must do above all other things. Then, get rid of that sappy stuff in your bio about death. It doesn't serve you well. Try to be happy, Please?

Stas,
If you want to be happy you can! Like Johnson said, you have to find the things that bother you the most and see what you can do. Above all keep track of your thoughts! Phillip [This message has been edited by Phillip (edited 18 January 2000).] |

I don't mean to put down your pride in Ukraine, because it is healthy.
I just mean don't get carried away with your longings. Anyhow you seem to be getting alot of joy out of the share markets - this is good as long as it's fun!! ![]() |
