Hello,
As I'm reading Bohdan Melnyk's book 'Against the Stream', I came across several sections on Western Ukraine's participation in WWI. While fighting for Austrian's King Franz II, many Ukrianian peasants did go to war. Can anyone elaborate on this topic? Are there any interesting links, books etc on this topic. Much appreciated......Vlodko D |

in end off ww1 poland had war with russia and poles had a deal with ukraines to figth with poles and get own area east off polish claimed lands...but after poland win war against russia, the russians didnt give ukraine own country and poland had west areas....pilzudski realy wanted to have ukraine state east off poland cause this also help poles to have a buffer state against russians.. but russians imperials put stop to this....same for belarus....
