Funeral tradition

I have an uncle who died in 1945 in Pydgorodyshche, Ukraine, could some one tell me what kind of ceremony was usual to carry out in that time?
I have a picture that was correspondent from Ukraine, with two standed people in front of a crown, and say is my uncle's funeral picture

Was commun take a picture of the family in one funeral??

Does some rite exist at the moment?
