Independence from the USSR isn't the same as being united with Russia as has been the instance for much of history when there wasn't a Soviet Union (Russia also supported the Soviet breakup).
Ukraine never voted on this particular matter. |

Unity of territory, in the sense that eg "Washington, from an arbitrary point, in the middle of a five sided building, rules the United States of Infinity," is an illusion.
Unity of humanity, nationalism, is based on ancestry, and ancestry is based on nativity - where God put us. In these days where nations have been split apart and live on far flung lands, national unity is far more importand than territorial unity. The whole family must be the basis of unity among humanity, not a coloured rag fluttering from a pole. Without the elimination of divisive egotism, and its international manifestation, racism, nothing can be accomplished. We are all equal before God, ant, ape or aster. |

I definately think that Ukraine should unify. A split nation won't exist soon. In the Bible it Jesus sais to the apostles: "If something is split by itself, how can it continue to exist?" If Ukraine so wants independence, it has to unify, to protect itself from their enemies, both weaker and stronger.
