Hi I am debating this guy at another set of forums. He is a Slovene and a devout follower of Stalin. It is my understanding the Josef Stalin starved to death millions of Ukranians in the 1930's during collectivization. Am I correct or I am I under the wrong impression?

RE: Josef Stalin starved to death millions of Ukranians in the 1930's

Stalin was responsible for starving millions of people.

But lets not forget that he had a lot of help from his followers, those who believed in him and those who carried out his orders.

None of this would have happened without the Party and without the people who believed in Stalin.

Dishonor belongs to them all.

And those who still believe in Stalin now are no better than those who still believe in Hitler.

Shame on them. They have no sympathy for the innocent people who have died.

Here is some backup, that you will need in arguing your case
checkout http://www.amazon.com for the following 'Stalin's Secret War', by Nickolai Tolstoy, which gives a blow by blow account of famine created by stalin and his cohorts. This was the price paid by the people of USSR for defence through heavy industrialisation.
Robert Conquest 'The Great Terror' and 'Soviet Industralisation' by Naum Jasny. Nikolai, on this site speaks for me with his remarks. Since you have to argue your case with your Solvene correspondent, where has he been all his life I wonder ?
