The year 1768 in Ukraine

Gentlemen, although it is obvious, that there is little interest to the Ukraine of 16-18 century in this forum.
But I still would like to make my question more clear.

In 1768 in Ukraine took part some rebelion known as KOLIIVSHINA. This fact is not to much described in the History of ukraine books, at least modern ones.
Most of my friends, all with university degree thought, that it was a peasent uprising against wealthy men oppression.
By now I succeded to get a memoirs of the eye-witness in Poland. And it seems me that the it is quite an ethnic question.
Any other information on the topic?
