We're an hour East of Regina, Saskatchewan. It would take three hours just to get out of here!

Food processing, it sounds interesting. You'll have to give us some details sometime.

Ukraine customs shouldn't be a problem for us, as I mentioned we'll be travelling with Mikita. I'm sure he can speed things up for us all! Besides, we'll need all the time we can spare just to meet all the friends I've made here. (Ukie.com)

Hey Clay,

A couple of years ago I tried organizing a get together of people from here to meet in Ukraine somewhere. As it turned out I managed to get around and meet a few members (even had a beer with Andrew in Uk, and Z in Warsaw, Charlie in Victoria, and stayed with Vanya (John) in Nikolaev) but was not able to get them together. If you decide to make a trip and Milita can help, perhaps with enough notice we may be able to pull a few of us together.
We have Benda in Kiev which may help as a focal point. Let me know what you think.

Len

Cool Sounds good to me

I like it and will keep everyone informed as soon as I figure out when! Mikita mentioned Holly, V-G, Kathy, and Lilly. (tickets on him) I'll see what I can find out.

Ukraine/Poland/Russia/Lithu Relationship

Ukraine and Poland have developed into a much more cooperative realtionship lately and especially becasue many Poles supported the Orange Revol. But the real reason is that Poland is not a threat to Ukraine or it's idependence. Nor is UKRAINE TO Polans's independence. Poland also wants a strong and indepedent Ukraine east of it to buffer the real evil Russia. Russia always was and probably always will be an evil threat to Ukraine and to Poland. Look at this GAS Passing crisis. Russia is using the GAS PASISNG as an economic terror weapon against Ukraine. Russia is still angry that ir lost control over Ukraine and Russia wants to rebuil it's evil empire.

I know that this sounds harse buut study your history and study what is hapenning today. Russia always was evil, it is evil, and it always will be evil. WHY ? Is it becasue Russians are evil. Well probably not. YET Russia has evil intentions towards its neighbors. Russians want 'their' empire back therefore they will accept evil actions by their government in order to get the empire back. That is simple. That is the truth !!!!

Russians wanted their empire back when they called former USSR republics "near abroad" and sold everything cheaply to the "brothers". Now it's time to accept simple truth: by rising prices we say "we're not concerned about "near abroad" anymore, you're free to go anywhere you want, all that troubles us - is our own country that is not so rich to pump free gas".

So, don't put everything upside down. Russians say goodbye to countries like Ukraine. I just don't understand why don't you celebrate.

That's too simplified view, in my opinion - "Russia is evil and that's it". If we study our history we'll also find out Poland is evil as well - till its disapearance it had been a threat to Ukrainian independence. And it is wrong to call Russians evil - people are not responsible for actions of their government. But you are right - the problem exists: Russia can't excuse Ukraine for Orange revolution.

May 3 - National Holiday in Poland and in Lithuania

I would like to dedicate the information below to conscious members of our historic discussion who are open-minded.
We discussed ups and downs of Rzeczpospolita Obojga Narodów (the Commonwealth of Both Nations).
Today, we in Poland and NOW in LITHUANIA AS WELL celebrate one of the brightest historic moments - the proclamation of the first Constitution in Europe - so called THIRD MAY Constitution 1791. YEs, in spite of different thinking about Polish - Lithuanian Union, societies of both natons realize how important was that act.
As I have already expressed many times, I do regret that the great historic chance was lost becuase there could be Rzeczposolita of THREE NATIONS. Polish gentry did make plenty of errors and wrongs. There have also been many shortsighted deeds and cruelty on the Ruthenian/Ukrainian part.

Anyway, I do strongly protest against equating the Polish-German relations to Polish-Ukrainian ones. There was enormous difference as to intentions and practice. Slavic fighting, as bitter as it was, never meant annihilation of the enemy.
