New archeology museum founded in Halych, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine

In Halych foundations of Archaeological Museum set up.

At the National Reserve Ancient Halych (Galych), during international scientific conference "Halych and Halych land in prehistoric days and in Middle Ages. Problems of methodology" an exhibition of archeological Galician antiquities was opened.
The exhibition, according to reserve CEO A. Beregovskiy, established future archaeological museum of ancient Halych.
In particular, in exposition attention is attracted to the unique East-Central Europe exhibit - women's gold earrings of second millennium BC, bronze mace of Halych and Kyiv Rus princely times, the stone tools of ancient people, and so on. On view are historical findings that reveal a human presence in Halychyna (Halych land) since ancient times, is only a small part of the rich archaeological funds of reserve.

And at the science conference, which consisted of plenary and breakout sessions, special interest and debate performances called Doctor of Geology and Mineralogy E. Kuzmenko from Ivano-Frankivsk, on "Geophysical studies in the Halych (Galician) castle to detect and geometrization of natural and artificial cavities and search for underground water", Doctor of Historical Sciences A. Sytnyk from Lviv, and Lviv National University professor A. Bogutskyi about Paleolithic camps on Halych-Mount, doctor of historical science V.Idzya from Moscow about the historical reconstruction of Uhryniv villages in the context of Halych Downtown (Galician Pidgoroddya).

Scientists emphasized that Halych and neignourhood is a unique place for archaeological research - here so called cultural layer is traced in depth of history for nearly 600 thousand years in a row.

The conference was attended by nearly 30 scientists from Lviv, Chernivtsi, Lutsk, Lublin, Krakow, Rzeszow (Poland), Moscow (Russia) and, of course, Ivano-Frankivsk and Halych.
After the conference a collection of reports and communications to the participants was published.
