Question TOP 5 Greatest Moments in Ukrainian History!?!

I would like to know from Ukrainians and anyone that knows more than me about Ukraine to answer this please? It will be something that will be of interest to me very much... I really love history and I know this sounds crazy but I have been intrigued about Ukraine since I was about 10 years old. I don't know why but its been something of importance to me...

Ok......

#2 - Petro Sahajdachnyj (1570-1622) - incredible leader, hetman, defender of Ukraine against Turks and Russians; transformed Cossacks into an organized army. Sea battles by Cossacks were in full sway under him in the Black sea.
#3 - Battle of Konotop in June 29, 1659, where Ukrainian Cossacks under hetman Vyhovskyj and Tatar allies destroyed 30,000 Russian army;
#4 - Uprising of Khmelnyts'kyj and all the victories Ukrainians had in 1648-52 period (battles of Zhovti Vody, Pyliavtsi, Batoh, Zbarazh, L'viv) against Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth;
#5 - Kolijivshchyna - 1768, where Zaliznyak and Honta raised one of the biggest rebellions against magnates. They were suppressed by common Polish and Russian forces, but they forever left a mark in Ukrainian memory;
#6 - Ukrainian Insurgent Army - UPA - which fought in 1942-1956 against Nazis and Soviets as well as Polish aggression.
#7 - Greatest poets and writers, dissidents who kept our spirit alive: T. Shevchenko, I. Franko, historian M. Hrushevskyj, metropolitan A. Sheptyckij, L. Ukrajinka, V. Symonenko, V. Stus, V. Ivasiuk, V. Chornovil, L. Lukyanenko,...

i wish to understand more about the maps and leadership strugles that shaped them .
i am finding difficult to understand the different cities and townships names as they are of different languages and some no longer exsist at all .while others were created by the new powers to be at the time .

These 3 "great" events were linked with mass murder of civilians conducted by Ukrainian "heroes".

The 1 st – our reply to bloody politics of stupid Polish state on our land

The 2nd – an answer to Bar confederates ( they openly proclaimed state policy of genocide towards Ukrainian population ) again on our land.

The 3d – an answer to pacification and socialization , which were provided by bloody Polish and Russian aggressors again on our land.

People who struggle for freedom on their native land are real heroes , aren’t they ?

1) Do you think people who murder women and children are heroes?

2) Also, is murdering women and children "struggling for freedom" in your opinion?

3) What do you mean by saying that the Bar confederates "openly proclaimed state policy of genocide towards Ukrainian population"? What proclamation do you have in mind?

Michal,

I do hope you’ll answer my questions and help me with your answers . I have some problems when discussing those questions in internal Ukrainian forums. Some time ago I watched TV Polonia and listened to Polish historians . They showed and read aloud documents of Bar confederates’’. I clear remember them say ‘genocide towards Ukrainians ‘ and it was indeed.

It seems you are not familiar with those documents, just as I had been before listening to those honest historians. I am very pleased you have such people in Poland. So,

- Could you please find original materials of Bar confederates’ in new books on history/ the internet … and reveal them here ?
- Is it true that their slogans, banners and other memorabilia are placed around the icon of Matka Boska Chenstohovska ?
- Did Yuliush Slovacki know about those documents when glorifying them in his poems “

And very the last one – Who did you vote for in the last elections ?

Mam nadzie ze pan nie jest takim sobie dzienclem nie slyszoncyn nic obok siebeie – Dzienkuje bardzo !
