How was Ukrainian SSR referred to in text?

Hey

How was the Ukrainian SSR referred to in text? If you wrote a letter to someone, how would you write hte address? "Kiev, Ukrainian SSR"? or "Kiev, Soviet Union"? or a mix of the two (kiev, ukrainian ssr, soviet union)
