Ukrainian royalty?

This may seem like a stupid question, but does Ukraine have royalty?

I have heard of hetmans, but it seems like these both Poles and Ukrainians used this term. just curious.

1. In theory, perhaps one might trace the bloodline of the Rurik Dynasty and call their present descendants "Ukrainian royalty".

2. As for "hetmans", this was a military title that never had anything to do with royalty. It was a term coming from German, functioning in Poland, Ukrainian and Czech lands, being used to describe a certain position in the military.

Is the tsar of Russia related to the kyivan dynasty? Also isn't the Piast monachy related to the kyivan monarchy as well?

Thanks in advance.

1. The early rulers of Russia (Novgorod, etc) and Kiev belonged to the same Rurik Dynasty. What's interesting that these rulers were propably not Slavic, but were Scandinavian instead.

The second Russian dynasty - the Romanov Dynasty, were not related to the Rurik Dynasty.

2. The Polish Piasts - at the beginning they were not, and they were ethnically different because the Piasts were Slavic (Polish) and the Ruriks were propably Scandinavian. Later perhaps they have intermarried, but to checking that would be too much work.

Yes I have checked, the wives of the rurik dynasty were not recorded because they were not nobles, they were just regular slavic commoners, so the scandnavian blood became diluted.

It even seems that it was even more mixed, later on when royals just married other royals.

Vladimir II Vsevolodovich
married Gytha of london in 1073

Yaroslav the great married Ingigerd from Sweden and Voldomyr married Rogneda of Polotsk Bylrussia

Svyatoslav I of Kyiv marriedPredslava

Ingvar of Kyiv married Debrima z Kyiv and I believe Rurikovich Olga Prekrasa Elena z Kyiv

Rurik z Kyiv married Alfrind of Novgorod whose ancestors also came from Denmark

Rurik's ancestor is Sigurd I Randversson Danmark and there are others from Norway and Sweden.
