I was just curious what ancient groups make up Ukrainians?

I know slavic tribes did, but what other groups.

I read Sarmations and Scythians inhabited Ukraine area a long time ago.

thank you so much. Is that why there are some scots in the baltic states such as latvia and estonia or did the come from Scotland later?

I have just started reading "Ukraine a History" by Orest Subtelny. Over 600 pages of fascinating reading! I would love to read the book you refer to. Orest is Ukrainian Canadian and dedicates his book "to those who had to leave their homeland but never forgot it".
