Vikings
The 9th century was a time of rapid expansion of the Vikings throughout
Northern Europe. The Varangians/Vikings, from what is Sweden today, helped found Kievan Rus, which laid the foundation for the national identity of Ukrainians. |

CARBON-DATED Neolithic civilization existed in what Ukraine today.
Trypillian culture PS> One of the Tripillian digs in the Podilia region produced a stove, which was carbondated and is thought to be the oldest stove ever to found anywhere. Last edited by Hannia; 7th April 2008 at 04:17. |

The Scottish Declaration of Arbroath, which was Scotlands proclamation of independence before
the world in the time of Robert the Bruce, stated that the Scots came originally from Scythia! "Scottia" was a play on the word "Scythia" and this was why the patron saint of the Scots was St Andrew, the Apostle of Scythia in what is now Ukraine. thank you so much. Is that why there are some scots in the baltic states such as latvia and estonia or did the come from Scotland later?
I also discovered that Magyar, panonians had lived there 7 slavic tribes Polans Drevlyans Severians Dulebes (that later likely became Volhynians and Buzhans) White Croats (Ukrainian mountaineers - Lemkos are direct offshoot descendants of White Croats) Tivertsi Ulichs also Germanic-speaking Goths and Varangians as well as Turkic-speaking Khazars, Pechenegs and Cumans and I'm assuming that scots are not just a celtic group then?

name of book
I have just started reading "Ukraine a History" by Orest Subtelny. Over 600 pages of fascinating reading! I would love to read the book you refer to. Orest is Ukrainian Canadian and dedicates his book "to those who had to leave their homeland but never forgot it".
