Hello to everobody! I have a difficult situation and do not know what to do. One of my relatives had gone to Australia many years ago, after Warld War2 in 1947-..., i dont know for shure, and died there some years ago. The people, who had an information about him did not gave it to me and had already died. But i still want to find him, or get some info about his family or smth. like that. Than, what can you suggest me? Maybe somebody knows ukranian community in Australia or smth. else? I know only his name and surname.
Thank you.

Dear friend:

First at all you have to post a search message in Genforum Australia, giving all the details you could such as: complete name and surname, approximate age, date of arrival in Australia, names of relatives of him, if he was a professional or a worker, what kind of work he did in Ukraine till his departure, and if you know his last address in Australia.
You'll have to be patient and wait for some information, let's say for 3 weeks, and then repost the message.
You can at the same time, to put in touch with the Ukrainian Consulate in Australia (or Embassy) by e-mail or by a snail letter (try to find in Internet the site of foreign embassies in Australia) or if you read ukraine language look for the page of Ukrainian Government, and once there find for Ukrainian embassies abroad.
Good Luck,
Joe.
