Raj how did you know ? you have second sight. I had the injury at work on sunday night so I cannot work, the third time I am off in 15 years, and as I would start my holidays friday, I have started the celebration early by breaking into my stash of beer, wich I hide from my son because he will drink it all when he visits and my daughters boyfriend who does the same . In fact its one of there games, hunt my stash of beer they think its really clever when they find it, drink it all, and leave me a note saying hide it a little bit better next time .My son says its to get me back as he says I used to steal his chocalate when he was a kid

As if I would do a thing like that. All the best

Amelie

Dear Laryska,

You said such nice words about your parents… You and Don said something very important. It is not so important how old we are here, what nationality or race we represent, but it is very important what we think about the experienced people and our parents in particular, whether we respect them. This Christmas thread has much to do with the issue of our parents and grandparents. They instilled the devotion to the ancient traditions in us. Their life was usually harder than our life because there was much more manual work and all kind of chores a few decades ago.
My loving and beloved parents had a very hard time during the war. My father was an anti-Nazi fighter and he lost the best six years of his life hiding somewhere in the forest. My mother was kicked out of the burning Warsaw by the Nazis and sent to Lower Silesia to be a slave labourer for the German bauer. She barely survived. My parents never preached hatred to me. In spite of all wrongs inflicted upon them by the Germans, they are glad that the presidents of Poland and Germany were able to shake their hands 60 years after the first shells from the German guns placed on Schlezwig-Holstein war ship, aimed at Westerplatte fortress in Gdansk, were shot.
Kasper, please respect your own parents. If you do, the rest will be much easier for you. Please watch the French film "Amelie". It is absolutely the best film I saw this year. Good old France is shining with all her beauty again there. You can order it as a Christmas giftt for your mom.
BTW Katya, Laryska, Donquichotte, Forest, Happy_Gunner(thank for the cute images), Holland, Rajkumar and others, thank you for your kind response to my greetings!
Don, I do remember a French film "La bonne annee", (It was translated as "Joyeux Noel" into PL) directed by Claude Lelouche). It was good, however AMELIE is a perfect anti-Hollywood masterpiece.

To the Angry Unknown

Why do you insert your complaints in every possible thread?
We have nothing to do with it. Contact the Admin and do not haunt everyone with your warning about hell because we think more about heaven at the moment.

Yes the younger people do work harder and study harder now that is why depresstion is at an all time high and sueside is high, things are not helped by older people compairing younger people to all the lazy westen townies with there alcoho pops and weed!
and Don trust me you are not old euff to be my father
Zbyszek i love my own parents they great, unlike parents you see in UK and USA smacking their children around the head and draging them shouting and swearing at them

OK Kasper, I am glad with your statement. However imagine for a moment that someone from Brazil accuses Iceland's people about bad behaviour, eating only rotten fish and so on (I do not think so of course!) Would you like it? How would you feel as someone living in Iceland? Your words about Americans can look inadvertantly like insults. Please do not discriminate. Rotten apple can fall from every apple tree. Do not blame all apples about being rotten. If you are a Christian you surely know a famous teaching about a plank and a speck in one's eye [Mt. 7].

zzzyyybbb....beannachtai na Nollag...(happy christmas) when I voted, I did it for the money ! so the Poles would get some of it, they held out the longest and got the most for their farmers.
They have to learn the ropes. we are experts over here in getting the loot, and the Polish leadership should send emissaries to find out all the tricks. The Poles having suffered the most, should now gain the most.
