Ukraine Dance Groups in Kyiv

I am moving to Kyiv in September for an internship. I am a Ukrainian dancer and I was wondering if there are any dance groups that I could dance with while I am there. I will be working during the day I need to find a group that practices in the evening. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

I folk dance, traditional Ukrainian dance. I am moving from Canada to work for a NGO in Kyiv.

Hi, there are probably amateur folk dance groups but I can't remember anything offhand. Try browsing through http://www.ukrbiz.net and Kiev On-line directory.

If not, the best you can do is to shop around when you get here. There is this place called Kyiv Palace for Children and Youth on Peremogy square, which is a hub of all extra-curricular activities for kids in Kiev. I'm absolutely sure they have folk dancing there. If you ask the teachers they will be able to guide you to the right group.
