for your information mr john i met alexander when he was in the USA. we were good friends while he was here, but he went back to the Ukraine and I have lost contact. all i want is to get in touch with an old friend. is that too much to ask?

not at all, if he were asking about you, and he was a stranger to me, he would get exactly the same reply i gave you, and i would be protecting your identity in the process
can you not appreciate this concept ? in short i practice not giving out any information about people because i don't know the inquirer. This doesn't of course cast any aspersions on you
