Have you checked this for starters already?
http://www.brama.com/ukraine/history/galicia/index.html It has a link to Orest Subtelny's book on History of Ukraine. Well, they bid $38 for an English version. I bought mine, translated into Ukrainian for $2.5 in Kiev

research
Thanks for the reference. I've been exploring what's been published on this topic, as well as the more general one of Ukraine in WWII, and I'm amazed by how much information there is. It's a little overwhelming at this point...I'm in the process of sifting through everything. I read the overview of the book you mentioned, and it sounds like it'll be helpful as a resource on Ukraine. As this project will likely be book-length, the process of researching and interviewing will be a lengthy one.
