Hi to all. My wife and I are planning a trip to Kiev Oct 5-10. We have heard wonderful stories of the people and country, but know so little and not sure what to expect. Among other things, we will be visiting friends in Kiev. We are from MI in the USA. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Good Night.

Hi Glenn,
I'm in England, but have been to Ukraine 20 times over 8 years. Most visits have been in connection with the work our church sponsors out there, but it nevertheless means that I have quality time with the young people in particular and opportunities to travel over the south and western areas of the Country.
I don't speak Russian well, so always have an Interpreter with me, but that is itself a joy, as in this way we really get to know people and their lives. It is a great place, with wonderful people, but still only slowly coming out of the soviet era and mindset. I've only just returned (ref. 'religion'- "And now I'm Back") I have one or two contacts in Kiev, if that is of interest to you. Buzz me on my e'mail if you wish. ANYWAY - GREETINGS TO YOU BOTH - MAY YOU ENJOY THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE. andrew |
